Many of us know the importance of self care, but how do we actually make time for it. It is so easily forgotten about as the more 'productive' jobs seem to always take it's place, so today we are discussing how you can actually make time for some self care.
Remind Yourself Self Care Isn't Selfish
In fact when you make time for yourself and take a break, you are going to perform much better and be able to do more after. Taking a bit of time out of your day to look after yourself is not selfish, you are actually doing yourself and others a favour.
Treat Self Care Like Any Other Goal
It is so easy to push self care to the side, but try to treat it like any other goal you set yourself. It is just as important!
You Don't Need Lots Of Time
It is often thought that you need to spend a whole day practicing self care, and although that is lovely, for most people it is not achievable. Instead try to set aside 15 minutes a day to maybe read your favourite book. Or getting up 30 minutes earlier and go for a walk listening to your favourite podcast. Self care doesn't need to be complicated, you just need to carve out a little bit of time each day to look after yourself.
Understand What Self Care Is For You
Self care can look different to everyone. Have a think about what you want and what an ideal day would look like to you. Once you know what you want, try slotting a few of those things into your day. You may not be able to do everything at once, but after you know what self care means to you, it is much easier to spend time focusing on yourself.
